If you're frequently doing sports and big into fitness, your average muscle-fat balance could dramatically differ from the people who don't. To provide the most accurate body composition measurement, we made an athlete mode feature.
Why Athlete Mode?
Athlete mode is tailored for users with a more developed musculature and lower fat percentages, particularly if their Body Mass Index (BMI) is above the typical range of 22 to 25. This setting is crucial because athletes, such as powerlifters, exhibit different body compositions that can skew standard measurements.
The underlying principle is simple: athletes typically have more muscle and less fat than an average person with the same BMI. The greater the BMI, the more pronounced this difference becomes. Recognizing this, we have developed distinct measurement models for athletes versus non-athletes to ensure accuracy in health metrics and fitness assessments.
Who Should Use Athlete Mode?
This mode is designed for:
Regular exercisers: Those who train multiple times a week and have significant muscle build-up.
Competitive athletes: Individuals engaged in sports that significantly enhance muscle mass, such as bodybuilding, weightlifting, and certain types of endurance sports.
To enable athlete mode, please follow these steps;
- Go to Settings in the AURA App.
- Open Profile.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Athlete.
This information will adjust the algorithms and will make the measurements more accurate.
